Airberlin to stop Las Vegas, San Francisco flights

Germany’s leading carrier Airberlin recently announced it will be realigning its route map for the summer schedule and would be dropping the San Francisco, Las Vegas and Vancouver routes.

The airline in a statement said that its route network has been strategically revised for next summer and its flights services on non-American Airlines hub destinations, such as Vancouver, San Francisco and Las Vegas would be stopped.

According to Airberlin, the strategic revision of its route network for next summer is aimed at increasing the efficiency, particularly to the intercontinental routes to the USA, and also the airline’s hubs in Palma de Mallorca and Vienna.

The airline stated that the timetable modifications are being effected to transfer capacities instead of reducing them, and enhancing Airberlin’s profile in strategic core markets.

The airline further said that it considers the United States as a strategic growth market and will continue to expand here in the future.

Airberlin has indicated that it will be increasing its nonstop flights services to Miami, Los Angeles and New York JFK from May 2013 onwards.
