Airlines fiercely competing to attract customers with lavish food

Meals being served on various airlines have always been a matter of great concern for the travelers. The often served soggy, reheated frozen meals were a cause for grumble among the passengers. But, all this is passé now. The situation has vastly improved over the years. The airlines are now fiercely competing and trying to attract customers with lavish food on board the flights.

The airlines are now recruiting celebrity chefs for designing their business class menus. This has become a trend and only increasing by the day. There are many international airlines such as Hawaiian Airlines, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Qantas Airways, Virgin Australia, Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways and others, which are focusing on upgrading their menus in order to offer a great on board experience to their customers.

For example, if you are booking business class tickets for travel on Hawaiian Airlines then you may look forward to a sumptuous menu on board the flight. The airline offers grilled Ahi tuna with caper cream sauce, mashed potatoes, shimeji mushrooms and snow peas, or grilled chicken with pineapple curry and brown rice. It is also the only carrier serving Hawaiian destinations which is offering complimentary meals to its customers traveling in economy class cabins. The airline has hired the services of Thailand-born executive chef Chai Chaowasaree to design the meals. Chef Chai Chaowasaree presently owns Singha Thai Cuisine restaurant and Chai’s Island Bistro in Honolulu, with both of them having a pan-Asian twist. The airline has also recently introduced a gluten-free snack box, which consists of a turkey snack stick, multi-seed crackers and hummus dip. It is available for $7.
