Alaska Airlines adding extra Holiday flights for Unalaskans Jan 5

Alaska Airlines recently announced it will be adding extra holiday flights for Unalaskans to be on time for Christmas. The airline said that Unalaskans have always found it difficult to get home for the holidays. But there would not be any problem anymore in getting air tickets and flying home for the holidays.

Scott Habbestad, Alaska Airlines’ Marketing Director, said that the company is already aware of this problem and would be taking appropriate measures to overcome this.

He said that during a holiday season nearly 4500 people had always wanted to fly to Dutch Harbor from the Lower 48, and this unfortunately coincides with Christmas, causing problems.

Habbestad said that Alaska Airlines has decided to add an extra flight on January 5, 2013 only for Unalaskans to fly in and out of town. He said that Unalaskans would be offered "return home from the holidays" deal. The extra flight would offer 23 more seats to Unalaskans to get back just before the start of the schools after holiday ends.
