Alaska Airlines announce codeshare pact with Aeromexico

Alaska Airlines recently announced it has entered into a codeshare agreement with Mexico’s national flag carrier Aeromexico. The new frequent flier and codeshare agreement between the two carriers is aimed at offering convenient connections to their respective customers on each other’s international flights networks.

Alaska Airlines in a statement said that the codeshare agreement would provide more options to the passengers booking cheap air tickets to easily travel between Mexico and several cities along the West Coast and Alaska.

The codeshare agreement would allow the passengers to accrue miles when they book flights on Alaska Airlines’ expansive network across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as Aeromexico’s 80 destinations throughout Mexico, the U.S., Central and South America, Canada, Asia and Europe.
 
According to Alaska Airlines, the miles flown on Aeromexico would also qualify for redemption in Alaska Airlines’ Mile Plan MVP elite-level program. Apart from this, frequent fliers would also be able to redeem miles for award travel on Aeromexico beginning later in 2013.
