Alaska Airlines Gogo Inflight Internet unveiled

Alaska Airlines recently announced the installation of Gogo Inflight Internet on board many of its flights. To celebrate the installation, the airline has decided to offer its passengers free iPod touch devices and Wi-Fi access for smartphones until the end of September.

However, the airline will start charging the use of Gogo Internet on all the devices in flight from September 30, 2011.

The airline said that it is going to provide the service from US$4.95 on various Wi-Fi enabled devices including iPads, tablet computers, netbooks and laptops. Charges will be applicable depending on the device used and the length of flight.

The passengers will be able to browse the web, access online music, view podcasts, use emails, play games, as well as connect to other private networks throughout the flight with the help of Gogo Inflight Internet aboard.

Alaska Airlines is the leading low cost carrier in the US offering cheap flight deals to its customers regularly. It currently serves over 90 destinations in the US, Mexico and Canada along with its partner Horizon Air.
