Alaska Airlines limits flight operations in Seattle due to rain and snow

Alaska Airlines recently announced that it is limiting its flight operations to and from Seattle due to freezing rain and snow. The airline has been forced to cancel 310 flights in recent days, affecting 29,000 passengers.

Brad Tilden, President of Alaska Airlines, said that the airline officials were making their best efforts to operate as many flights as possible. The airline is confronted with severe ice accumulation on the aircrafts thus hampering flight operations.

Alaska Airline in a statement asked the affected passengers booked on canceled flights to or from Seattle between January 17 and January 20 to request for a refund of the unused portion of their ticket through January 25, 2012. The airline has also announced to waive change fees.
