Alitalia flights get new baggage policies

Alitalia recently updated its baggage policy to accommodate the preferences of travelers to various cities that airline serves. As per the new flights baggage policy, the following updates would be in effect soon.

  • All economy class tickets issued for travel on Alitalia between North America (US/CA) and the entire network will allow one bag at no charge. There are only two exceptions: Accra and Lagos.
  • The baggage policy takes effect on Monday, October 17, 2011, and applies to new tickets issued for itineraries with departures from November 1, 2011.
  • The previous baggage policy will apply to any tickets issued up to October 16, 2011.
  • The important destination impacted is Tel Aviv, which currently now allows for 2 bags. From Monday, it will change to 1 bag for itineraries involving travel from Nov 1.
