Italy’s national carrier Alitalia recently opened its flagship lounge Casa Alitalia at Rome Fiumicino Airport and Milan–Malpensa Airport. The new lounge will offer enhanced passenger experience bordering on famed Italian hospitality and offering signature moments such as exclusive live cooking service.
Cramer Ball, CEO of Alitalia, said, “Casa Alitalia is a celebration of traditional Italian hospitality. Globally renowned Italian architect Marco Piva is the key person behind the design of the new concept and building. In fact, the design of Casa Alitalia is more that of an Italian home instead of a public place. Casa Alitalia’s interiors, dining and cooking areas, conversation and relaxation areas, and the reception hall have been designed similar to that of a beautiful Italian house.”
Casa Alitalia is situated on the site of the former “Giotto lounge” in Rome Fiumicino Airport’s boarding area G from where most medium-haul and long-haul extra-Schengen flights operate. The signature lounge is spread in an area of nearly 800 square metres and has a capacity to accommodate 115 passengers at a time.
Get ready to enjoy the new look, cozy interiors of Casa Alitalia the moment you enter the lounge. Its entrance draws inspiration from an Italian palazzo’s main door, appropriately separating the airport’s chaotic environment from the homely, elegant and comfortable environment of the lounge.
The catering service at the lounge exudes Italian culinary excellence. Look forward to satiate your hunger with varied pasta dishes and yummy pizzas being prepared by a chef twice daily at a live cooking area right before your eyes. Those who are vegetarian or want to enjoy gluten-free meals are welcome to visit the catering service area. Apart from the live cooking area, there’s an exclusive buffet and bar area as well where a wide selection of Italian wines are available. A professional bartender is also there for you to enjoy a typical aperitivo. Among other facilities offered at Casa Alitalia include free Wi-Fi connectivity, bathrooms with showers, a prayer area, a library, private meeting rooms and VIP rooms.
