All-business class La Compagnie launching London-Newark route

La Compagnie, all-business class French carrier, recently announced it is launching flights between London Luton Airport (LTN) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) starting from April 24, 2015.

The airline will operate flights between the two cities thrice weekly and has indicated that it will be increasing the service to daily by the end of this year. The airline will utilize a Boeing 757-200 aircraft configured with 74 lie-flat seats.

According to the airline, each business class seat will be 46.5-inch tall with a seat pitch of 62 inches and width of 26-inch. Every seat will also be equipped with an individual light, a power outlet and a USB port.

The customers traveling in La Compagnie will be provided with various facilities. These include seasonal menus created by renowned French chef Christophe Langrée and amenity kits consisting of cosmetic products from popular French skincare brand Caudalie.

For in-flight entertainment, the premium customers will be offered a Samsung Galaxy Pro 12-inch tablet pre-loaded with music, magazines and e-books. The tablets can also be removed from the seat backs.

La Compagnie prefers to call itself as a budget all-business class carrier. A top spokesperson of the airline said that the costs are kept to the minimum so that the customers are provided with cheap airfares regularly. The airline’s budget model can be gauged from the fact that there will be only three flight attendants for serving the 74 seats.

Currently, La Compagnie is providing all-business class flights services between New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport and Paris-Charles De Gaulle International Airport ever since its launch in July 2014.
