Allegiant to start nonstop flights to Punta Gorda from LVIA

Allegiant Air is set to connect Punta Gorda in Florida with Lehigh County in Pennsylvania towards this year end. The airline announced its decision to launch nonstop flight between Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) and Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) beginning October 31, 2013.

Initially the new route will receive passengers twice a week on MD80 consisting of 166 seats and gradually will switch to Airbus 320 with 177 seats towards the end of the fall season.  As per the schedule the flights are set to depart Lehigh Valley International Airport at 0615 hours Thursdays and arrive in Punta Gorda Airport at 0850 hours. The flight to Punta Gorda Airport will depart at 0250 hours and arrive in Lehigh Valley International Airport at 0530 hours on Sundays.

Charles Everett LVIA’s Executive Director said that local travelers have been frequently requesting connectivity to the Punta Gorda airport and this is their chance to fly directly on the carrier’s plane tickets between the two cities.

The airline is offering exciting inaugural one-way fares between the two destinations starting at $99.99*. These fares will expire on August 6, 2013 and are valid for travel period October 31, 2013 through February 11, 2014. These fares may however, not be applicable on all flights.

Southwest Florida Coast is a favorite destination for travelers who love the beach, wildlife and other leisure activities available in plenty in the Gulf of Mexico. Strategically, Punta Gorda Airport is situated between Fort Myers and Sarasota.
