American Airlines and US Airways start integration post merger

American Airlines and US Airways, which has completed their merger process, are now charting their new path. Both the airlines only less than a month of the completion of their merger process have now started their first phase of integration. The integration process was recently announced by American Airlines Group Inc., a newly formed entity, post merger.

Media reports said that the members of American Airlines’ and US Airways’ loyalty programs – Aadvantage and Dividend Miles – would see an alignment of the benefits, in addition to policy alignment, during the phase one of the integration process.

According to the newly-formed company, the travelers booking plane tickets for travel on American Airlines and US Airways will now be receiving several benefits during the phase one of the integration process. The company said that the members of the loyalty programs of the two airlines would be able to earn and redeem miles while traveling on each other’s network.

The company further said that the Elite members of American Airlines and US Airways will now be able to enjoy select reciprocal benefits of both the airlines’ loyalty programs. These benefits include First and Business Class check-in, complimentary access to Preferred Seats, priority boarding, priority baggage delivery, priority security and free checked baggage allowance.
