American Airlines announces new nonstop ABQ-Charlotte service

American Airlines recently announced it will be launching its new seasonal nonstop flights to Albuquerque from Charlotte. The airline said that the new service between Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Albuquerque International Sunport will start operating this summer starting from June 5 through August 18, 2015.

The airline will deploy a 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft to operate flights between the two cities. The flights will be operated daily.
 
The new seasonal service on Albuquerque-Charlotte route will be complementing American Airlines’ year-round flights being currently operated to Phoenix, Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago from Albuquerque.

According to the airline, the customers boarding flights from Albuquerque will also be able to take advantage of the combined extensive international network of American Airlines-US Airways to various destinations throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe from Charlotte.

The two carriers – American Airlines and US Airways – which have merged to form the largest airline group in the world, together provide more than 700 daily departures to above 140 destinations from Charlotte.

Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry has welcomed American Airlines’ decision to begin seasonal service from Charlotte. He said, “This is undoubtedly a great news for both the city and the state. The new service will not only offer leisure travel connections, but also significantly open up business and convention opportunities as well.”

Richard Berry also hoped that American Airlines being a longstanding and committed partner at the Albuquerque International Sunport would further contribute in strengthening the relationship and increase growth opportunities even more.
