American Airlines considered best for transcontinental flights

Which airline is the best for flying nonstop in first class or business class on transcontinental routes from New York to Los Angeles, Seattle or San Francisco? And, the verdict is clear now. American Airlines is considered to be the best airline to fly on these routes.

A recent study on transcontinental air travel analyzed flight operations by five leading U.S. carriers – American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, United Airlines, Virgin America and Delta Air Lines. The final outcome was in favor of American Airlines. The study named American Airlines as the best for various reasons. It said that the airline purchased new aircrafts to operate flights on these routes. The airline had a dedicated first class cabin. And, the best part was that it was much easier to upgrade from cheapest economy class to the plush business class. The study also indicated that the airline’s transcontinental route is competitive and considered to be among the best when compared to the services provided by other European and Asian airlines operating on this sector.

JetBlue Airways emerged as the runner up in this sector. The airline has introduced its premium ‘Mint’ service on New York JFK-Los Angeles and New York JFK-San Francisco routes in the months of August and October 2014 respectively. The airline was adjudged among the second best on transcontinental routes with its Mint service featuring longest fully-flat bed and widest seat ever in the U.S. domestic market. The service also includes four private suites among a total of 16 seats being currently offered.
