American Airlines debut Boeing 787 flight to Chicago

Boeing 787 aircrafts are now being increasingly used to conduct flight operations by several airlines. American Airlines has now become the second airline in the United States to utilize Boeing 787 aircraft to operate flights.

American Airlines recently launched its maiden Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight to Chicago from Dallas/Fort Worth. The debut flight was conducted between Chicago International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on May 7, 2015. With the introduction of Boeing 787 in its domestic network, American Airlines has now joined United Airlines to conduct its flight services.

A spokesperson of American Airlines said that it will start using Boeing 787 aircrafts to operate flights to new destinations on its international network, including Beijing, Shanghai and Buenos Aires. The flights to the three new destinations will be launched from June 2015. The airline will also be launching flights to Tokyo as well utilizing its Boeing 787 aircraft in August this year.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft is fuel efficient and helps in saving fuel by up to 20 percent. Lightweight carbon material has been used in making the Boeing 787 thus making it fuel efficient. The interiors of the aircraft also prominently feature mood lighting and larger windows. The range and efficiency of the aircraft also makes it quite ideal for operating long-haul flights. The aircraft’s smaller size also makes it perfect for the routes that are unable to fill a larger aircraft like the Boeing 777 every day. American Airlines has placed orders for 42 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts and already received the first five.
