American Airlines fare structure revamped

American Airlines recently announced the revamp of its fare structure. The airline in a statement said that the new fare structure would offer the customers booking domestic or international flights an option of three coach-class fare types, which are accompanied with varying degree of perks and benefits.

According to American Airlines, the travelers booking cheap air tickets in coach class would still be required to pay change fees of $150. Apart from this, the customers would also continue to pay for checked bags whenever they opt to avail the cheapest, most basic fare.

The airline further stated that the passengers who are ready to pay somewhat extra would now be able to purchase fares, which includes change-fee waivers and available with other options including a free checked bag, bonus frequent-flier miles and priority boarding.

The airline said that it would also continue to offer its customers high-priced “fully flexible” and “first/business class” fares.
