American Airlines to begin three additional flights from PTI

Travelers flying out of Piedmont Triad International Airport are in for good times now. American Airlines has decided to engage into competition with Delta Air Lines raising possibilities of Cheap Airfares than ever before. American Airlines has announced it will be adding three more nonstop flights to New York City from Piedmont Triad International Airport.

Media reports said that Piedmont Triad International Airport has gained with the recent merger of US Airways with American Airlines. Now, there will be flights to New York City six days a week from Piedmont Triad. According to American Airlines, there will be two morning flights and one late-afternoon flights from PTI to New York’s LaGuardia Airport. The additional flights would begin operations effective from April 1, 2014.

Delta Air Lines is already providing flights services to New York’s LaGuardia Airport from Piedmont Triad International Airport. With American Airlines entering into the fray now, a price war is likely to break out with customers being offered cheap flights. A travel analyst said that offering a choice to the Big Apple is surely a good thing for the customers because of the likely fare competition between the two airlines. Though this will depend on the flights timings as well as the proportion of the city-pair market, and duration of the competing services, the travel expert said.
