American Airlines has planned to introduce new flight service on routes between London Heathrow Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Soon to come into effect from March 31, 2019, the newly launched non-stop service between the two destinations will provide flyers an increased access to the United Kingdom and beyond. Passengers can make bookings from Monday, August 27. Boeing 777-200ER will be used to operate the new route. The aircraft ideally complements the already prevalent service provided by British Airways, the American’s Atlantic joint business partner that provides daily flight services between London and Phoenix. Featuring 273 seats, the airline provides three classes of service: business class, premium economy and economy. Wi-Fi and entertainment screens will be accessible in each seat. Ideally, it would be AA’s first transatlantic flight from Phoenix.
The departure time and fares for the nonstop service between London and Phoenix are still not determined. Although the flights between the new routes will be flown daily, however, it will be on seasonal basis.
Vasu Raja, the vice president of Network and Schedule Planning of AA commented, ‘Our transatlantic collaboration with British Airways continues to flourish and further come up with expanding opportunities for the two airlines and also assist passengers across North America and Europe.’
Sean Doyle, Director of Network at British Airways stated, ‘We take immense pride that our AA’s talented partners have introduced the upcoming flight service between the two amazing destinations. The newly introduced service, in partnership with British Airways will boost our Atlantic Joint Business, further making the travel experience of the passengers both easier and rewarding.’
