American Airlines to open new routes to Roatan and Cozumel

American Airlines announced that it would launch two new services to Roatan and Cozumel towards the end of this year. The airline said it was preparing to start weekly flights between Dallas Fort Worth and Roatan in Honduras. This service is set to begin on November 23, 2013. Roatan is a popular diving destination, which attracts millions of tourists each year.

The new service will operate between Miami International Airport and Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport. The carrier will use the services of Boeing 737-800 aircraft on this route. Plane tickets can be booked to travel to this wonderful city.

The carrier is also set to launch service on Miami-Cozumel route. This service will start on November 21, 2013. It is the third time the airline has launched service to this beautiful Mexican city. It earlier operated flights between these two cities in 1990s using Boeing 727-200 and again in mid 2000s with an ATR-72 plane.

The flights between Miami International Airport and Cozumel International Airport are being highly awaited. The five times a week service is especially important, as Miami is the carrier’s second largest hub. It has flights to various destinations across the Latin America from this city.

As per the schedule, flights will depart Miami every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 11:20 am and arrive in Cozumel at 12:20 pm. The return flights will depart Cozumel at 1:35 pm and arrive in Miami at 4:20 pm. The flights will however, depart Miami every Saturday at 12:45 pm and arrive in Cozumel at 1:40 pm. The Saturday flights will depart Cozumel at 2:40 pm and arrive in Miami at 5:25 pm.
