American Airlines to refurbish Admirals Club lounges worldwide

American Airlines recently announced it is planning to revamp all its Admirals Club lounges catering to first class and business class customers in various airports around the world. This is so far the airline’s most ambitious program.

American Airlines has termed the program as the most expansive lounge makeover in its history. The new look Admirals Club lounges will make their debut at Phoenix Sky Harbor and Sao Paulo airports. The lounges at both the airports have been closed for construction now.

The airline in a statement said that revamp exercise at Admirals Club lounges will also be undertaken at other major airports in the United States, including New York JFK, Los Angeles, Miami and Dallas/Fort Worth later this year. The lounges in other cities such as London and Chicago will be refurbished in the next few years.
 
According to American Airlines, the new design will include white glass entryways, communal tables, modern check-in podiums, and high-backed chairs fitted with USB ports and power outlets. Each lounge will also prominently feature artwork appropriately reflecting its location.

The airline further indicated that it will be expanding some of its Admirals Club facilities during the revamp, such as the Phoenix Sky Harbor Terminal A lounge. The airline also stated that the food served in its Admirals Club lounges will also be enhanced during this summer.

Fernand Fernandez, American Airline's Vice President of Global Marketing, said, “The airline will endeavor to create spaces in its newly refurbished Admirals Club lounges so that they are more in line with how the people spend and live their time presently.”
