American Airlines is all set to upgrade its flights services to Manchester Airport (MAN) by launching a Dreamliner aircraft in June this year. The airline is currently operating a Boeing 767-300 aircraft between Manchester and Chicago O’Hare. The service is now being replaced by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which will start flying on the route effective from June 3, 2016.
The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will be offering 28 fully lie-flat seats to customers booking business class tickets. Those traveling in this premium cabin can look forward to direct aisle access, and various other amenities including a USB port, universal AC power outlets, and touchscreen monitor offering up to 350 albums, 13 radio channels, 240 TV shows, 260 movies and 20 games for in-flight entertainment. Apart from business class, the Dreamliner will also be offering 55 seats in Main Cabin Extra with additional legroom and 143 seats in Main Cabin. The passengers will also be able to gain Wi-Fi access across all travel classes on the aircraft.
American Airlines has this year celebrated 30 years of its flights operations from Manchester to Chicago, which started in April 1986. Apart from Chicago O’Hare, the airline is also providing daily flights services to Manchester from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
A spokesperson of American Airlines while providing details of new schedule said that Flight # AA55 will depart from Manchester at 13:15 hrs (local time) and arrives at Chicago O’Hare at 15:20 hrs (local time). The return Flight # AA54 will make its departure from Chicago O’Hare at 21:55 hrs (local time) and reach Manchester at 11:25 hrs (local time) next day.
The travelers from UK connecting through American Airlines’ Chicago hub would be able to gain seamless access to above 120 destinations across the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
