A new set of pyjamas and amenity kits has been recently launched by American Airlines for its first and business class customers. The airline collaborated with fashion designer Cole Haan for creating the amenity kits, which would be provided on long-haul and transcontinental flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
The customers traveling in first class cabins would be offered a new set of pyjamas. Though the amenity kits would be offered in both premium cabins, but those traveling in the first class can reuse the carry-to-home kit as a tablet holder. The amenity kits would be available in various colors like black, navy, burgundy and grey.
According to the airline, the amenity kits would comprise of beauty and skincare products from Clark’s Botanicals, 3Lab and C.O Bigelow. The kits would also contain other essentials as well such as headphone protectors, toothpaste, toothbrush, ear plugs, socks and eye mask.
Meanwhile, in another development American Airlines has indicated that it is going to tweak its in-flight entertainment by doing away with seat-back screens completely on its 100 new Boeing 737 Max aircrafts. The airline issued a statement saying that it has arrived at the decision after getting fully convinced that 90 percent of its passengers carry their own electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops on board the flights, and utilize these for entertainment purposes. According to the airline, these electronic devices perform exceedingly better in comparison to its own individual screens.
A spokesperson of American Airlines said, “The new single aisle Boeing 737 Max aircrafts will debut on existing and new routes later in 2017. The new aircrafts will also be equipped with satellite-based high-speed internet connectivity from Gogo and Via Sat, which is major upgrade from its existing sluggish air-to-ground cellular network. The passengers through this high-speed broadband connection will enjoy video streaming from service s like Amazon and Netflix.”
