The U.S. East Coast is set to be once again directly connected to the UK with the launch of seasonal flights to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The customers traveling on two routes will also be offered new business class cabin as well.
Media reports recently said that American Airlines has resumed its flights services between Edinburgh and New York effective from March 26, 2017. The route is being served with the help of a Boeing 757-200 aircraft. The premium customers would be offered a total of 16 fully lie-flat seats in business class cabins in a 2-2 configuration.
The business class customers looking forward to travel on Edinburgh-New York route will be offered various amenities, such as pre-loaded Samsung Galaxy tablets for in-flight entertainment. The customers will be able to keep themselves entertained with books, music, games, TV shows and new films. Apart from these, sumptuous meals, specially created in partnership with famous US television personality Maneet Chauhan and Michelin-starred chef Mark Sargeant, will be served to premium customers on board their flights.
Mark Danis, American Airlines’ UK Corporate Sales Manager, while expressing happiness over the resumption of seasonal service, said, “The fact that a new business class cabin has been introduced on resumed seasonal flights to Edinburgh and Glasgow demonstrates American Airlines’ commitment and resolve to upgrade customer experience as part of its ongoing $3 billion investment. This also at the same time shows that the airline is completely focused on the Scottish market too.”
Danis also said that the resuming of seasonal flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow offers a great opportunity to the UK travelers seamless access to popular American cities of New York and Philadelphia, and onwards to American Airlines’ extensive network throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Canada and Latin America. It may be known that apart from New York-Edinburgh route, the airline will also be resuming its seasonal flights to Philadelphia from Glasgow starting from May 6, 2017. The route will be served utilizing a Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
