An insight into Miami’s best new hotels

Miami is renowned for being home to some popular celebrities and new hotels as well which opened lately. The glamorous names associated with Miami include celebrity Tommy Hilfiger, Hollywood director Baz Luhrmann and famous architect Richard Meier.

The hospitality industry has also taken shape in Miami over the years. Ever since Delano, the first hotel to be opened on South Beach in nearly four decades, by hotelier Ian Schrager in the 1990s, the first new hotel on the city’s South Beach in nearly four decades, the hospitality industry has come a long way. When Ian Schrager again opened his another hotel ‘The Edition Miami Beach’ in 2014, leading hoteliers assessed the importance of the area and its potential. The importance of Miami had grown so much that there were nearly 3,700 new hotel rooms by 2014. One year later the city saw the addition of another 2,000 new rooms in 2015. More hotels are to be opened in 2016 as well, which include The Four Seasons at The Surf Club. Here are the best new hotels in Miami.

Faena Hotel

The Faena Hotel opened in December 2015. The 169-room hotel vividly portrays the dramatic vision of Argentinian designer Alan Faena. Some of the fascinating creations at the hotel aptly showcase Alan Faena’s innate desire for bringing art and culture and integrating it into the community. Among the prominent features here include two Damien Hirst statues and the Cathedral. One of the statues includes “Gone but not Forgotten”, which is a 3-meter tall skeleton of a glided mammoth preserved on the beach in a temperature-regulated glass cage. The Cathedral at the main entrance has six beautifully carved thick columns wrapped in golf leaf and colour-blasted, intricate, intriguing murals by Juan Gatti. Among other amenities here include a spa, a 150-seater theatre and a private dining room with 3,000 bottles of wine.

Metropolitan by COMO

The Metropolitan by COMO was inaugurated in an Art Deco building of historical importance on Miami Beach in 2014. The hotel is located at South Beach's northern end. Italian designer Paola Navone has designed modern, pared-back interiors. The 77-room hotel offers many amenities to its guests, which include a fitness centre, cabanas encircling a stylish pool, a yoga terrace and a private beach. A signature spa COMO Shambhala also offers an array of Asia therapies created for promoting a holistic lifestyle to the guests staying here.
