ANA to focus low-cost operations on resort travel in U.S.

Japanese travelers planning to spend their vacation in U.S. cities like Guam and Hawaii can now look for to cheap airfare on ANA’s low-cost arm. Japan’s leading carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) recently indicated that it is planning to boost its low-cost carrier operations and focus more on resort travel to places such as Hawaii and Guam.

A spokesperson of ANA Holdings Inc said that All Nippon Airways will focus on high-priced business travels, while its budget carriers would target tourists going overseas.

ANA had last month bought AirAsia Bhd after dissolving a loss-making alliance. The airline said that this unit will now be transformed into a resort-oriented carrier.

All Nippon Airways is yet to name the newly bought airline, which is likely to be named in August this year. Initially, the airline plans to launch its operations with the help of two aircrafts. By March next year, the fleet size is likely to increase to five aircrafts.
