Asiana Airlines launching A380 service to New York JFK May 28

Asiana Airlines recently announced it will be launching its Airbus A380 service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) starting from May 28, 2015.
 
South Korea’s flagship carrier in a statement said that the superjumbo service on Seoul Incheon-New York JFK route will initially start operations thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The airline will convert the route to a daily service effective from June 28 this year. The daily service will be operational two weeks ahead of schedule.

Asiana Airlines also provided flight schedule for the new A380 service between the two cities. According to the airline, the outbound Flight OZ222 will take off from Seoul Incheon at 1030 hrs and reach New York JFK at 1130 hrs. The return Flight OZ221 will depart from New York JFK at 1325 hrs and arrive in Seoul Incheon at 1635 hrs the next day.

The airline has received the first of its six Airbus A380 aircrafts. The superjumbo will be configured in a three-class layout and will have a capacity to carry a total of 495 passengers. The Airbus A380 aircraft will have 12 private Suites in First Class, 66 fully-flat seats in business class cabin (Business Smartium) and 417 seats in economy class (Travel Class).

Earlier, Asiana Airlines launched its inaugural flight to Los Angeles in 2014, utilizing an Airbus A380 aircraft to operate flights from Seoul Incheon. The airline has also indicated that it will be launching a Boeing 777-200ER service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Seoul’s Incheon International Airport (ICN) from July 14 to June 28.
