Austrian Airlines launches direct Los Angeles-Vienna flights

Austrian Airlines recently launched its flights between Los Angeles and Vienna effective from April 10, 2017. This is the airline’s first-ever direct service to the U.S. West Coast. Austria’s largest carrier will be operating the flights on the new route six times per week with the help of a Boeing 777 aircraft.

 

Media reports said that the inaugural flight OS 81 departed from Vienna and arrived at Los Angeles’ Tom Bradley International Airport at 1:30 pm. The return flight OS 82 made its departure from Los Angeles at 2:30 pm for Vienna. The new service has opened up seamless connectivity between Austria and Southern California. Apart from this, the travelers from the United States would also be able to effortlessly connect to various destinations in Central and Eastern Europe.

 

Andreas Otto, Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines, said, “With the launch of new route, Los Angeles has now become the airline’s fourth destination in the United States. The other three U.S. airports being currently served by Austrian Airlines include Chicago, Newark Liberty and Miami. This is undoubtedly the biggest expansion for the airline so far in the United States. The company is excited and highly optimistic about this new venture. It’s a matter of great happiness that we are going to utilize our existing fleet to committedly serve the U.S. West Coast. The flights between Los Angeles and Vienna will initially be a seasonal service and operated during the peak summer season.”
