BA, Finnair and JAL to jointly sell airfares to Japan

British Airways, Japan Airlines and Finnair have joined hands and started the sale of joint fares for travel between Japan and Europe. The travel on the joint fares is applicable after April 1, 2014. Media reports said that the efforts of the three airlines are aimed at providing Cheap Airfares and simultaneously keep their respective flights full.

The three airlines in a joint statement issued recently to the media said that this initiative will be a great encouragement for the customers by taking the advantage of mix and match flights offered on all these airlines. This would also make flight schedules convenient for the customers as well as keep the tickets prices lower. These airlines are hoping that the new arrangement would be effective in reducing empty seats on flights to Japan, particularly those on British Airways and Finnair.

Past few years have been trying times for the airline industry since most of the airlines had to confront with financial losses and challenges because of the higher jet fuel costs. This was revealed in a new study conducted by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

British Airways and Japan Airlines have announced that they would be increasing their flight frequencies between Europe and Japan this summer. The two airlines have also said that they would be significantly improving the timings of their flights. British Airways will introduce two additional weekly flights to Tokyo from May this year. Japan Airlines has also said that a new day-time nonstop flight would be launched between London and Tokyo from March 30, 2014.
