BA to boost weekday frequency on London Gatwick-Jersey route

British Airways (BA), the premier airline of the United Kingdom has announced the addition of a weekday flight between its London Gatwick and Jersey route around summer time in 2014. Post the launch of this service the airline would connect the two destinations with a total of six flights on weekdays. This extra flight would boost BA’s capacity by 650 seats a week.

BA is all set to start operations of its extra flight between Jersey and London after Flybe suspends flights on this route. Flybe will cease operations between the two destinations beginning March 29, 2014. It has agreed to sell its Gatwick slots to Easyjet.

BA shares goodwill for offering excellent business class flights to its passengers. Travelers looking to fly on the route will now get the option to choose from six flights on weekdays and book tickets as per their own convenience and ease. It flies the route with Airbus A319 and Boeing 737s.

Colm Lacy, BA’s Head of Commercial at Gatwick said that British Airways commenced its first flight to Jersey 80 years ago. He added that it is great news that BA is expanding its service to Jersey with an additional flight. The frequency would give customers an edge to book tickets in line with their personal schedules.
