Fira de Barcelona is home to two large venues, situated at the foot of Montjuic mountain and on Gran Via, respectively. Over 70 tradeshows are hosted at these two venues every year and attracts nearly 2.5 million business visitors from over 200 different countries. Among major trade fairs hosted by Fira de Barcelona every year include the Mobile World Congress, the Car Show, Smart City Expo World Congress, Alimentaria and Hispack.
Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB)
The technical resources, intelligent architectural design, capacity and modern installations make the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) an unique trade events venue in Europe. The CCIB is home to two inter-connected buildings spanning in an area of 100,000 square meter. The Convention Centre has a capacity for hosting 15,000 people, while the Forum Building Auditorium offers a seating capacity of 3,140 people. Among other prominent features here include 36 meetings rooms, a large banquet hall and a big exhibition space. The CCIB has played host to many European and international pharmaceutical and medical conferences in past years. Automobile and IT majors such as Diamler Chrysler, Seat, Kia, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes, TIM, Nokia, Siebel, IBM, Cisco, HP, SAP and Microsoft also utilize the venue for organizing their tradeshows.
Palau de Congressos de Catalunya
The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is situated in Barcelona’s main business and financial hub in the upscale Avinguda Diagonal. This iconic landmark came into existence in 2001 and was presented the National Architecture Award for its contemporary architectural design. The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya offers 39 rooms as well as a large auditorium having a capacity to host over 2,000 people. It has been regularly hosting national and international conferences, and also social events and cultural galas.
World Trade Center Barcelona
The World Trade Center Barcelona is located at the Barcelona wharf’s end in the Old Port. It holds an unviable position in the city’s economic life.
