Birmingham receives maiden Dreamliner from Delhi amid fanfare

Air India, the flagship carrier of India achieved yet another feather in its cap. It landed its maiden flight in Birmingham which took off to a warm reception from Amritsar and Delhi on August 1, 2013. The Dreamliner AI 461 was received at the Birmingham Airport with equal generosity amid much fanfare. Delhi is one of the top global destinations touched by almost all international airlines. Being the capital city of India gives it the special edge for being on the airlines’ priority list. Besides being the national capital Delhi is also seat to the political, economic, educational and cultural centers within the country.

The launch of this new service opens the routes between these two cities giving an opportunity to travelers who love to splurge on luxury. Customers who wish to fly between the two principal cities in India and the United Kingdom can purchase business class tickets with the airline. The carrier is set for a four days a week service and will fly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The Boeing 787-8 series that is equipped to carry 256 passengers comprises of 18 business class and 238 economy class seats.

Delhi which holds its proximity in distance to Agra is flocked by foreign tourists at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The neighboring city of Agra is home to Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders in the world. Technically the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is described as a long-range, mid-size wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner serving commercial demands since October 2012.
