Boeing 767 aircraft soon to join the LAN fleet

Chile’s LAN airlines recently announced that it will be procuring three Boeing 767-316 ER planes that will cost around USD 510 million. The agreement with the Boeing is a part of the airline’s long-term fleet strategy.

The airline is also planning to invest more than USD 4 billion for renewing its fleets in next two years i.e. between 2011 and 2013. This will bring the fleet to a total of 185 from the current 131. The airline is expecting the delivery of new three 767-361 ER in July, August and September of 2012.

The airline projected a growth of 50 percent in its fourth quarter and also aims to become the world’s top airline after acquiring the TAM airlines. After the announcement of the airlines merger there has been a tremendous increase in the shares of the airline.
