British Airways recently introduced its nonstop flights to London from San Jose. The daily service between London Heathrow Airport and California’s Mineta San Jose International Airport will be operated with the help of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The new service on London Heathrow-San Jose route was announced by British Airways in August last year. The launching of new flights on the route is aimed at supplementing the airline’s daily Airbus A380 flights services between San Francisco and London Heathrow.
The strong business relations between flourishing technology hub London and California Silicon Valley had necessitated the launch of San Jose-London Heathrow route at the earliest. Currently, Silicon Valley companies have their offices present in 428 locations across the UK. Similarly, UK companies have their offices in 118 locations in Silicon Valley.
A spokesperson of Silicon Valley International Airport said that most of the important Silicon Valley tech companies have their European headquarters based in London and also in other places as well throughout continental Europe. Moreover, London is also connected to over 130 cities in different countries of the world with nonstop flights services. This easy connectivity to UK’s capital city offers great opportunity for enhancing business and improving travel efficiency.
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft launched by British Airways for operations between London Heathrow and San Jose is configured in four travel classes – First Class, Club World (Business Class), World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) and World Traveller (Economy Class). The customers traveling in First Class would be offered 8 seats. Those booking business class tickets would be offered 42 seats for travel in Club World. The customers traveling in Premium Economy would be offered 39 seats, while a total of 127 seats would be provided for traveling in Economy Class.
The launch of flights to London Heathrow by British Airways is the first of 4 nonstop flights to be launched from San Jose in 2016. Air Canada recently launched flights to Vancouver from May 9. Lufthansa would be launching flights between Frankfurt and San Jose from July 1. Air China is also planning to launch flights to Shanghai this summer and has already received U.S. DOT approval for the new service.
