British Airways has announced it will be launching direct flights between Sussex and New York City later in May this year. The new route was launched amid the presence of famous former singer Peter Andre sporting the New York City t-shirt made hugely popular by John Lennon along with his two kids.
Media reports said that the daily flight will make its departure from London Gatwick at 4.40 pm and arrives in New York JFK at 7.30 pm local time. The return flight takes off from New York JFK at 8 pm and reaches London Gatwick at 10 am next day. The airline is offering promotional fares, inclusive of state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment, seat allocation, food and beverages, online check-in and free checked luggage.

Meanwhile, British Airways recently introduced its new Airbus A380 aircraft for conducting seamless flight operations between Vancouver International Airport and London Heathrow Airport. This is the first ever Airbus A380 service to Vancouver, the largest city in British Columbia. This will also be the only scheduled service to be offered by Airbus A380 aircraft in western Canada. The daily Airbus A380 service between Vancouver and London will be operated during the summer season.
According to British Airways, the Airbus A380 aircraft being currently operated on Vancouver-London route offers a seating capacity of a total of 469 passengers. The aircraft is configured in four cabins spread across two full decks. The customers traveling in First Class cabin will be featuring 14 luxurious suites. Those booking business class tickets in Club World cabin would be offered a total of 97 seats that can be converted into full flat beds. The premium economy or World Traveller Plus cabin offers 55 seats, while those traveling in economy class or World Traveller cabin would be offered a total of 303 seats.
