British Airways making changes to Club World seats on B787-9

A spokesperson of British Airways said that the airline is making investments and will be revamping its business class products. The revamp exercise is currently underway and the transformation will be visible after some time. The new business class product would be offering aisle access to all the customers. With the new changes taking effect the customers will now not be required to stretch over other customers for getting to the aisle.

Alex Cruz, Chairman and CEO of British Airways, said, “The company is going to spend around $652 million (£400 million) for giving the Club World experience an astounding turnaround. The overall quality of meals and beverages on board the flights would be changed. The company has received many feedbacks from the customers regarding sleeping, and this is also going to be addressed on priority. The meal service routine is going to be changed so that the number of sleep hours is going to be maximized, particularly for those traveling from the East Coast of the United States.”

Cruz said that the premium customers traveling from East Coast or West Coast of the United States particularly face sleep disturbance problems because of the tiresome long-haul flights. We have decided to take care of this problem. Our primary objective would be to ensure that the customers get the longest period of quiet time possible. It is important that they should be provided at least a minimum of five hours of sleep/relaxation when traveling from a U.S. destination like New York or others. During the revamp we are planning to provide a dark, quiet cabin ambience in Club World with a great emphasis on sleep. The customers would also be offered ear plugs, eye shades, duvets and blankets in order to make their sleep experience indeed great and hugely relaxing.
