British Airways new flights from Lanseria commences September 1

British Airways recently announced that it will begin new flight services to Gaborone, Botswana and Maputo, Mozambique from Lanseria International Airport from September 1, 2011.

The flight operations will be undertaken by Comair Limited, which operates on behalf of British Airways in Southern Africa. This will be the first time that the airline will operate flights from Lanseria International Airport. The airline will deploy 48-seat ATR 42-500 aircraft to operate flights on the new Lanseria-Maputo and Lanseria-Gaborone routes.

The daily return flights to Maputo and Gaborone will be operated from Monday to Friday. However, on certain days of the week there will be double daily flights as well.

British Airways said that it will be initially offering 8 return flights per week from Lanseria to Maputo. While, the airline will operate 7 return flights per week from Lanseria to Gaborone. The airline will also introduce additional flights to Maputo and Gaborone before 2011 end.
