British Airways to invest 5.5 billion pound to expand fleet

British Airways has announced that it will expand its fleet and will invest 5.5 billion pound for buying new aircrafts. The airline said that the major investment will be in introducing new cabins and new in-flight entertainment systems.

A top official of the British Airways said that the airline will be adding more Boeing 777.300 ERs, 12 Airbus A380s and 24 Boeing 787s as part of its fleet expansion drive. British Airways recently completed a multi-billion merger with Iberia in order to create International Airline Group (IAG). With the formation of IAG, British Airways and Iberia will now together fly to over 200 destinations using more than 400 aircrafts.
