With the increasing globalization and a tough competition among various international airlines, business class travel is becoming more affordable than before. More and more passengers are nowadays getting attracted by the amenities and facilities provided by
business class airlines. There are many airlines that have spruced up their services or are in the process of doing so, especially in their business class category. Korean Air is one such airline that has decided to launch its first A380 service in May 2011 with the entire deck of the aircraft devoted to business class passengers. With this initiative Korean Air aims to bring forth world’s first all-business class upper deck A380. A senior official of the airline said that the unique configuration of the two-storey A380 aircraft will allow Korean Air business flyers to “feel exclusivity like they’re traveling in their own private jet”. The official further disclosed that Korean Air’s business seating, called Prestige Class, will have 94 lie-flat sleepers with 74 inches between the
business class seats and extra large seat partitions offering “normally the comfort and privacy reserved for First Class passengers on other airlines”. The coach class seats in Korean Air are spaced almost three feet apart, whereas the Prestige Class pitch is over six feet. Korean Air’s A380 will have a total of only 407 seats: 12 first class and 301 economy class seats on the first level, and the 94 Prestige Class seats on the upper deck.
Apart from the new all-business class upper deck A380, Korean Air’s business class flights have been providing many amenities to its business class passengers. When you book air tickets to travel by international airlines such as Korean Air, you can enjoy the exclusive Prestige Class check-in counters. Besides, you are allowed to carry two pieces of baggage for US routes and 30 kg for all other routes free of charge. The business class passengers are also the first to disembark for early baggage claims. In order to make your trip more enjoyable, Korean Air provides access to over 390 lounges around the world including Incheon Airport and domestic and international lounges provided by SkyTeam Alliance.
The business class seats in Korean Air promises to make your journey completely enjoyable. The bed-style seat reclines to a 170 degree angle and offers a cozy and free rest area with its total length of 190 cm and width of 71 cm. The Prestige Plus seat is a sleeper style “Lie-flat Seat”. It provides several features that truly allow you to experience the luxury of work in the air. The features of business seats are: Privacy screen between seats; 170 degree recline – 193 cm long; Shell-flat type seats providing more privacy; Movable slide arm rest (26 inch); and Individual reading light that can be personally adjusted.
