Most of the people perceive
business class flights to be pricey, and one which only the industrialists and other affluent people can afford. This is, however, not true at all. Though there are some people who continue to believe that because of the facilities and benefits that business class airlines offer to its passengers, even buying business class tickets is a costly affair. But ever since the advent of Low Cost Carriers (LCCs) on the travel horizon, there is an ongoing fierce competition among various airways to lure passengers by offering business tickets at low fares and providing the usual benefits that goes for the regular business travelers. This myth has over the years shattered with most of the passengers preferring to fly air business class.
Compared to coach class, air travel by business class is completely free from hassles. Passengers traveling by business flights find it to be quite comfortable and safe. Besides offering reasonably priced business flights, major airways have brought into operations the latest generation of commercial airlines that offer several kinds of benefits and facilities such as wider cushier seats; longer, wider flat beds enhancing passenger privacy; sophisticated in-flight entertainment systems offering dozens of movies, TV shows, games and music on demand; sumptuous menus; and fine wines.
Considering it to be a cushy affair, even most of the airlines have been undertaking innovative moves in business class onboard long-haul, transoceanic or transcontinental flights. Business class passengers are perceived as profitable customers for major
international airlines, and therefore the business class sector has become quite lucrative for airline companies. Major revenue is earned by airlines through their business class. Keeping these factors in view, air travelers in large numbers are being constantly lured and targeted by airlines through business class discounts and other attractive special packages and travel promotions.
According to an industry analyst with Forrester Research in San Francisco, airlines can make up to five times the profit on a business class tickets over coach class. The analyst further says that business class is really the new
first class because first class has become so outrageously expensive. Besides, business class is a strong allure in loyalty programs, and coach class customers use points and miles to upgrade. With so much competition, business class flights have become affordable, comfortable and reasonably priced as never before.
