Cathay Pacific Airways will be launching four additional nonstop flights to San Francisco from Hong Kong by October end this year. The airline will be deploying a new Airbus A350-900 aircraft to serve the route. The Airbus A350-900 aircraft will be the airline’s first to be deployed in the United States and second in North America.
A spokesperson of Cathay Pacific Airways said that the thrice weekly service between Hong Kong and San Francisco being currently served with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will now become a daily service and served with Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The new Flight CX893 will be operational starting from October 29, 2017.
With the launch of a daily service, the San Francisco-Hong Kong route will be served with total number of 21 flights per week or thrice daily service. Cathay Pacific Airways also said that it will now be offering more nonstop flights services between the two destinations than any other airline presently. The airline however at the same time also said that its Flight CX879 and Flight CX873 will continue to be conducted with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Providing details about the new schedule, Cathay Pacific Airways in a statement said that the Flight CX893 will depart from San Francisco at 12:55 am and arrive in Hong Kong at 8:05 am following day. The return Flight CX892 will make its departure from Hong Kong at 5:55 pm, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and arrive in San Francisco at 1:55 pm same day. However, the arrivals in San Francisco on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays would be at 6:45 pm. According to the airline, the early morning arrival in Hong Kong will enable the customers traveling from the U.S. to effortlessly take Cathay Pacific Airways connecting flights throughout Asia, including Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, and over 22 destinations in mainland China, and that too without having a lengthy stopover in Hong Kong.
