Cathay Pacific Airways planning to install Premium Economy cabins on long-haul flights

Asia’s largest international carrier Cathay Pacific Airways recently announced that it will install new seats in the Economy Class on its long-haul flights. The new seats will be introduced in March 2012.

Besides, the airline also plans to install Premium Economy cabins fitted with 26 to 34 seats. Cathay Pacific Airways is mulling to introduce Premium Economy cabins taking cue from Singapore Airlines and China Southern Airlines aimed at luring more and more passengers to fly with it.

Initially, Premium Economy cabins will feature on flights to New York, Toronto, Sydney and Vancouver. Later on, the airline also plans to install Premium Economy cabins on flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and continental Europe as well as on other long-haul routes. Cathay Pacific Airways plans to install the cabins in 87 aircrafts by the end of 2013.

The airline also revealed that it will provide Wi-Fi connectivity on its aircrafts, which will be available for all its passengers.
