Cathay Pacific Airways Premium Economy class seats on Toronto, Sydney routes from March

Cathay Pacific Airways recently indicated that it will be introducing Premium Economy class seats on some of its routes to boost profitability.

The airline said that it will introduce premium economy flights on its routes to Toronto and Sydney starting March 2012. Cathay Pacific Airways also provided details about its revamped long-haul economy class seats. The airline said that the seats have been designed to enhance quality as well as profitability.

Cathay Pacific Airways while providing information about new seats on Toronto and Sydney routes said that the features include a 38-inch seat pitch, 19.3-inch seat width and an 8-inch recline.

The long-haul economy class will have a seat pitch of 32 inches, a seat width of 18.1 inches to 18.5 inches depending on aircraft type and a 6-inch recline.

Cathay Pacific Airways revealed its plans saying that it intends to fit 87 aircraft with the premium economy class by the end of 2013. The aircrafts include 777-300ERs, 747-400s, A330-300s and A340-300s. Among the prominent features of new seats include a large meal table, cocktail table, footrest, a 10.6-inch personal television and multi-port connector for personal devices such as tablet computers and smart phones.
