Cathay Pacific Airways wants to keep its premium customers happier despite troubles it has been confronting of late. The airline is going ahead on its decision to inaugurate its newly refurbished business class lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. The move is coming at a time when the airline is facing financial turmoil and implementing cost cutting measures.
The newly revamped business class lounge named The Pier scheduled to be open later this May is said to be the largest among the Cathay Pacific Airways’ eight lounges currently located at Hong Kong airport. The lounge is quite spacious and huge, spanning in an area of 3,306 square meters. The lounge has a capacity to seat 550 travelers.
The lounge will be operated by the Plaza Premium Group, which will now be managing the airline’s entire portfolio of lounges at Hong Kong airport. The lounge will be prominently featuring the only Chinese tea house at Hong Kong airport. Apart from this, familiar staples like a Noodle Bar would continue to be a part of the lounge.
The premium customers making use of the airline’s first class lounge at Hong Kong airport have earlier complained about the sub-standard service being provided to them by the Plaza Premium Group. The series of complaints include among others botched drink orders, smaller food portions, slower food service and miscommunication with wait staff.
