Cathay Pacific Airways to add more flights on key routes

Cathay Pacific Airways will soon be adding more flights and their frequencies on selected popular routes during the summer season. “We are taking the opportunity to add capacity on a number of routes that will further boost connectivity through Hong Kong,” said Tony Tyler the Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific.

The 11 flights operating per week to Paris will be increased to twice daily from 27th March 2011. The additional flights of Boeing B747-400 that operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will arrive at Paris via Amsterdam.

The scheduled flights will depart from Hong Kong at 00.15 am and will arrive in Paris at 10.00 am. The round trip flight will depart from Paris at 11.45 am, and on the same day it will arrive in Hong Kong at 07.05 am.

The airline will also introduce an additional weekly flight to Surabaya that will operate on the same current scheduled timings. This will operate as daily service on the same timings. A direct daily flight service will also be operating at Penang. The flights from Penang will depart from Hong Kong at 3.00 pm and will arrive in Penang at 06.35 pm. The round trip flight will depart from Penang at 07.45 am and will arrive in Hong Kong at 11.35 am.

The airline will increase the flight service from four times a week to daily service to Milan from 1st July 2011. The flights will depart from Hong Kong at 01.00 am and will arrive in Milan at 07.50 am. The round trip flight will depart from Milan at 01.25 pm and will arrive in Honk Kong at 07.00 am the flowing day.

The flights operating to Jakarta will receive three times-daily service that will commence from 15th August 2011 on the current timings.

In order to boost the capacity the airline will be using the B747-400 aircraft on the Hong Kong-Bangkok-Delhi route instead of the A330-300.
