Cathay Pacific Airways to offer Chinese cuisine in business class

Hong Kong’s flagship carrier Cathay Pacific Airways is all set to offer contemporary Chinese cuisine to its customers traveling in business class. The airline has also indicated that this would be offered in other travel classes as well, including first class, premium economy and economy class. The airline has collaborated with a contemporary Chinese fine dining restaurant Mott 32 for introducing a series of new dining options for its customers. The restaurant is a part of Maximal Concepts, an award-winning dining group.

Cathay Pacific Airways has already started serving the exclusively designed menu starting from September this year to its customers traveling on select flights from Hong Kong to various long-haul destinations in North America, Europe and Australia.

Mott 32 would be serving some of its most popular dishes to the airline’s customers. The new menu would be prominently featuring its hugely popular signature dish “Crispy Triple Cooked US Black Angus Beef Short Ribs”, created by the Chinese restaurant’s Group Executive Chef Lee Man-sing. The dish has been created drawing inspiration from the beef ribs which Chef Lee Man-sing once tasted during his trip to Hangzhou few years ago. The beef ribs are marinated overnight and finest ingredients are used in its preparation. Its complex flavors are enough to entice the passengers for long.

The “Slow Cooked Sticky Iberico Pork, White Turnip Cake” is yet another famous dish, which will be the part of new menu. This dish is prepared with local ingredients, but is seldom offered as in-flight dining option. The customers will be treated to authentic taste of Hong Kong. This dish is created using shitake mushrooms, dried shrimps, rice flour, white radish, pork sausage or minced pork. One of Mott 32’s signature ingredients premium Iberico pork is used to finely blend into steamed turnip cake. This is considered to be a healthier alternative in comparison to the commonly used fatty pork recipe. Among other popular dish to be served on board the flights include “Chicken, Salted Lemon”.
