Cathay Pacific enhances San Francisco airport lounge experience

If you are taking flights to/from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), then your travel experience is set to become all the more better. Cathay Pacific Airways has tied up with the award-winning travel app LoungeBuddy to offer enhanced lounge experience to its customers traveling in first class or booking business class flights to San Francisco from Hong Kong.

Cathay Pacific Airways as part of its continued innovation drive has now become the first airline to activate iBeacon technology at San Francisco International Airport. The move will help the airline provide more personalized and enhanced expereince to its customers making use of the First and Business Class lounge at SFO. The airline is currently offering 17 nonstop weekly flights services between Hong Kong and San Francisco.

The airline's pilot program started off on June 29, 2015 and would initially last for 60 days. During this process the passengers using the LoungeBuddy App on their iPhone would be receiving customized informations the moment they arrive at the Cathay Pacific Airways lounge at San Francisco International Airport. The information to be instantly displayed on the travelers'' iPhones include food and beverage menu, and an overview of the available amenities at the lounge. The travelers will also be able to check in on social media as well.

According to the airline, those making use of LoungeBuddy and sharing their lounge experience on Twitter would automatically become eligible to win a daily prize drawing for a limited-edition Cathay Pacific plush goat to commemorate the Chinese Zodiac year of the goat. Apart from this, the passengers who share their lounge experience either on Twitter or Facebook will also become eligible to win a prize of 60,000 Asia Miles and one roundtrip Premium Economy Class ticket to Hong Kong after the 60-day promotion ends. The LoungeBuddy App is available for free download via the Apple App Store.
