Hong Kong’s premier carrier Cathay Pacific Airways has decided to increase its flight frequencies to Chicago. The airline in a statement said that it has now started operating additional thrice weekly flights between Hong Kong International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport effective from August 2, 2014. With the launch of extra flights the airline will now be offering a total of 10 flights every week to both these destinations. The airline was until now conducting 7 weekly flights on Hong Kong-Chicago O’Hare route.
Media reports quoting officials at the Hong Kong International Airport said that the increased frequencies between Hong Kong and Chicago O’Hare will provide improved connectivity to the airline’s Asia network.
The reports said that the passengers booking flight tickets on Cathay Pacific Airways will be able to easily connect to six destinations in India and above 22 destinations in mainland China.
According to the new Cathay Pacific Airways’ flight schedule, the new flight will depart from Chicago O’Hare International Airport at 1.15 am and reach Hong Kong International Airport at 5.50 am next day. The flights will be operated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return flight will depart from Hong Kong International Airport at 6.25 pm and arrive at Chicago O’Hare International Airport at 8.20 pm. The return flights will be conducted thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Cathay Pacific Airways has deployed a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to operate the additional flights on the route. The aircraft will be configured in three classes – 288 Economy Class seats, 32 Premium Economy class seats and 40 lie-flat Business Class seats.
Cathay Pacific Airways operates out of its main hub at Hong Kong International Airport. The airline is presently offering 111 weekly flights to Hong Kong. The airports being currently served from the U.S. includes San Francisco International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
