Cathay Pacific to open London Heathrow Terminal 3 lounge Dec 7

Cathay Pacific Airways has announced it will be opening its new first and business class lounge at London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 3 starting from December 7, 2016. The soft opening of the lounge already took place on November 28 this year.

The renovation of the lounge started in November last year and concluded in late November this year. The airline had initially planned to open the lounge in June this year, but had to postpone its reopening because of construction delays.

Cathay Pacific Airways in a statement said that the lounge will be opened separately for first class as well as business class areas. The total area of the lounge (both first class and business class) is spanning in approximately 1,200 square meters, which will be 30 percent larger than the previous one. The premium customers can look forward to picturesque vistas of Heathrow Airport’s apron and northerly runway. Moreover, both the lounges have been designed tastefully reflecting contemporary Asian aesthetic, and would be prominently featuring artwork from renowned Chinese artist Han Feng. The lounges have been constructed on the similar pattern as that of Cathay Pacific Airways’ main hub Hong Kong International Airport and also equipped with same facilities.

The two lounges – First Class and Business Class – will however be distinct and differentiated by different culinary offerings. The business class customers would be able to enjoy Cathay Pacific’s signature Noodle Bar, where they can savor authentic Chinese cuisine. The customers can also look forward to delectable offerings of traditional British dishes, and a wide range of international and Western delicacies. The business class customers would be able to enjoy drinks at a full-service bar too.

The offerings for first class customers will be distinct and a class apart. They would be offered access to the grab-and-go style “The Pantry”, from where they can treat themselves to an ever changing selection of food items available throughout the day. They will also be able to enjoy lunch and dinner at “The Dining Room”, where made-to-order dishes exclusively prepared by the chef would be offered through table service.
