Cathay Pacific to launch business class to Newark

Cathay Pacific Airways has announced its decision to start daily service to Newark Liberty International Airport. The airline will commence its new flights between Hong King and Newark beginning March 1, 2014. This new route will become the carrier’s fifth gateway into the United States. The new launch is awaiting government approvals.

At present, the airline has flights to Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. It operates four-times-a-week flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The airline is known for its supreme onboard service. Its cabin crew, was recently decorated with the World’s Best Cabin Staff award, which was presented by Skytrax.

John Slosar, Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Pacific said that the new service would offer more options and flexibility to their customers flying on business class tickets to New Jersey. He added that additional flights to New York Metropolitan area would help the airline and ultimately Hong Kong improve its position in the international aviation sector. He said that this service especially makes sense as there are many business travelers frequenting this route.

The airline will use the services of Boeing 777-300ERs on this route. These aircrafts comprise seats in the business class, premium economy class, and economy class. It recently unveiled the redesigned interiors in its business class that aim to offer a better and improved onboard experience. The carrier also enhanced its in-flight entertainment across all classes.

As per the schedule, the flights will depart Newark at 1:15 am and arrive in Hong Kong at 6:00 am, the following day. The return flights will depart Hong Kong at 6:20 pm and arrive in Newark at 9:00 pm.
