China Eastern Airlines to launch LAX-Chengdu flights June 30

China Eastern Airlines recently announced it will be launching new route between Chengdu and Los Angeles in June this year.
 
The new flights to Los Angeles from Chengdu, a key city in China’s Sichuan province, will start operating from June 30, 2015. The two cities will be served via Nanjing with three roundtrip flights per week. It will take around 16 to 17 hours to travel on Chengdu-Nanjing-Los Angeles route.

United Airlines had earlier last year launched nonstop flights between Chengdu and San Francisco. The growing air connectivity between China and the United States is likely to further increase the bilateral tourism and trade ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, in yet another development China Eastern Airlines has indicated that it will be increasing its capacity being presently offered on Shanghai-Toronto route in the coming months. The airline has decided to deploy a larger aircraft to conduct flights on the route and will be increasing the number of flights as well.

Media reports said that China Eastern Airlines has upgraded its Toronto service with the introduction of its new long-haul Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from May this year. The airline is presently providing thrice weekly direct flights services between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport. The flights on the route are being conducted on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays per week. The airline has said that it will start offering daily flights on Shanghai-Toronto route effective from June 10, 2015. According to the airline, the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft is configured with three classes and has a total capacity to carry 316 passengers.
