China Southern to launch Boeing 787 on Auckland route

China Southern Airlines has some good news for its passengers as it is ready to debut Boeing 787 Dreamliner service on Guangzhou-Auckland ahead of time on October 28, 2013. Earlier the carrier had announced it would operate the Dreamliner on this route beginning December 4.

Customers who wish to fly on business class tickets on this route can do that and experience luxury on the long haul direct flight to these cities. The carrier is expected to launch yet another Dreamliner on the route during the peak summer period falling between December 4, 2013 and March 1, 2014. Its decision is influenced by the fact that this period witnesses heavy passenger traffic.  To cater the heavy demand through this time it will increase the frequency from seven to ten flights per week.

Glenn Wedlock, General Manager Aeronautical Commercial at Auckland Airport said the announcement of the change to Dreamliners provides them the opportunity of 5% growth in seat capacity per year. He added that along with additional three services per week through the upcoming summer season their tourism industry should expect a strong growth with arrivals from China.

The business class on this Dreamliner will contain 24 seats while it will also have 4 first class and 200 economy class seats.

To entice New Zealanders the airline said it will allow the tourists from the country to travel in Guangzhou for 72 without a visa, increasing the time frame from previously held 24 hours.

Mike Ma, General Manager New Zealand at China Southern Airlines said the visa waiver is to give travelers more value for their money and a chance to explore the city on way to a new destination.
